Hunza Valley sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides subspecies turkestanica) grows wild at 2,400–3,200 metres altitude in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region. The high-altitude environment and minimal anthropogenic disturbance produce a berry with vitamin C concentration of 600–1,200 mg per 100g (5–10× lemon) and omega-7 (palmitoleic acid) fatty-acid content of 28–42% in the seed-oil fraction — among the highest documented in any Hippophae population.
Kohenoor International works with Hunza-region wild-harvest cooperatives, with quality verification at Karachi prior to FOB loading. Three SKUs: (1) Dried whole berries for tea, extraction, and snack-bar applications; (2) Dried leaves for tea and antioxidant supplement applications; (3) Pressed berry juice (UHT-stable) for beverage and skincare formulations.
HACCP-certified processing chain, SGS COA per shipment with vitamin C, palmitoleic acid, and antioxidant capacity (ORAC) verification. Halal Certificate per shipment.
Primary export markets: China (TCM + functional food), South Korea (cosmetic seed-oil + nutraceutical), Germany (premium skincare formulations), EU general (functional food + supplement). Transit: Shanghai 18d, Incheon 14–18d, Hamburg 25d, Rotterdam 25d.
